孔子(公元前551年9月28日-公元前479年4月11日),字仲尼,孔丘,伯 nominations of his life, was a Chinese教育家 and思想家, known as the founder of Confucianism. He was born in the village of Ante in the state of Lu (now Shandong), and his family originally hailed from the state of Song (now Henan). Confucius is revered for his contributions to the development of Confucian philosophy, which emphasizes Ethics, morality, and proper governance.

Confucius launched a new era in private education, establishing the concept of Confucian teaching. He attracted over three thousand disciples during his lifetime, among whom there were seven "wise persons" known as the Seven Sages. He traveled extensively across various states as a young man, offering advice to rulers and propagating his ideas.

In his later years, Confucius worked on the compilation of the Six Classics—the Book of Poetry, Book of Documents, Book of Rites, Book of Music, Book of Changes, and Spring and Autumn Annals—preserving and systematizing Chinese culture. His disciples and their successors documented Confucius's words and deeds, which were compiled into the "Analects," a foundational text of Confucianism.

After his death, Confucius became immortalized as a cultural icon, deeply influencing East Asian culture. The Analects have been a central text in Confucian studies for over two millennia, shaping the values and beliefs of East Asian societies. Confucius's philosophy has also had a profound impact on various fields, including politics, education, and ethics, making him one of the most influential figures in the history of Chinese philosophy.
